Villa Rodia

You pay for the outside! Stunning!

Villa Rodia was easy to find and upon arrival we were called via the cleaning lady to pay the tourist tax to her. Both her and the landlord very friendly and he was available to text with any worries.

The villa internally is fairly outdated and could do with a refurb, the kitchen in particular and the flooring throughout has signs of wear and tear. However it was lovely and clean with no issues. There is a dishwasher and washing machine if you need it, all of the general household items you would need are there. 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms, the tv had 3 English channels, not fantastic but we watched Netflix on our phones on the night if we really needed that sort of entertainment.

The outside. Wow. Absolutely incredible! The view is breathtaking, and you get the sunrise from the bedroom balcony. This is worth every penny! The pool is a welcome addition in even the october heat, we had wonderful weather and it really did make the difference on our days spent at the villa.

A car is a must to stay here as it's 5km from the nearest shops bars and restaurants and the road to it is very dark with no path for safe walking. It's also the best way to explore crete and we went out every day to see different areas. Highly recommend elafonissi beach which was around 90 mins drive away, also kourtaliotiko gorge and waterfalls - absolutely insane experience to view the waterfalls from above and swim beneath! A real highlight.

Although the villa could do with improvements I can't give less than 5 stars for our stay, any updates required were far outweighed by the view and the outdoor facilities.

Wir waren zu zweit 5 Nächte in der Villa Rodia. Der Außenbereich war sehr gepflegt und der Pool sowie das Überdachte Häuschen und der Ausblick absolut toll! Da wir schönes Wetter hatten und die meiste Zeit draußen waren konnten wir das in vollen Zügen genießen. Der Innenbereich ist wie es aus den Bildern wahrscheinlich hervorgeht ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Hier wäre ein etwas moderneres Ambiente wünschenswert. Die im Vergleich zur Größe des Hauses doch sehr kleine Küche war leider auch sehr sporadisch ausgestattet. Schade war auch dass es im Außenbereich keinen mobilen Schirm gab. Was wir weniger gut fanden war dass eines Abends unangekündigt eine Person aufs Grundstück kam um die Kurtaxe abzukassieren. Da wäre eine etwas professionellere Vorgehensweise wünschenswert gewesen. Alles in allem entsprach aber alles der Beschreibung bzw dem gezeigten Bildmaterial. Mit ein wenig mehr Modernisierung im Innenbereich wäre das eine top Unterkunft.

The villa and the yard is wonderful. The view is also very beautiful and the surrounding villages are filled with tavernas and wineries so you can find every night some where new to eat and drink.
The reason I gave it 4 stars is because no cleaning was done during a 9 nights stay. No clean bed sheets or clean towels even after I asked the owners/person off contact.

Our summer holiday in Greece was absolutely incredible, and it was all thanks to the amazing Villa Rodia in Crete! If we could sum up our experience in one word, it would be "paradise."

Nestled in the serene western part of the island near Chania, Villa Rodia offers a tranquil escape like no other. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning sea views that stretched as far as the eye could see. The villa's location in the Athina Villas complex, consisting of three independent villas, ensures both privacy and convenience.

The moment we stepped into Villa Rodia, we were greeted by a sense of serenity and relaxation. The spacious and meticulously maintained gardens were a sight to behold, lush oases that made us feel like we were in our private paradise. But the real showstopper was the private pools, where we spent countless hours basking in the Mediterranean sun, cooling off with refreshing swims, and taking in the breathtaking panoramic views of the sea.

The villas themselves are havens of comfort and luxury. With two cozy bedrooms in each, they were perfect for our group of friends, accommodating all four of us comfortably. Each level of the villas boasts its own spacious veranda, a place where we enjoyed leisurely breakfasts while admiring the landscape and sea views. The attention to detail in the villas' design and furnishings was truly impressive, making us feel right at home.

One of the many highlights of Villa Rodia is its strategic location. It's just a short drive away from some of the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen, and charming Chania is within easy reach. Exploring the local area was a breeze, and we had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the rich culture and history of Crete.

What truly sets Villa Rodia apart, though, is the thoughtfulness that goes into making your stay unforgettable. The private gardens and pools, along with the outdoor spaces furnished for al fresco dining and convenient barbecue areas, were a dream come true for a vacation filled with relaxation and delicious meals. The air conditioning ensured our comfort even on the hottest days, and the Wi-Fi internet kept us connected when needed.

In conclusion, Villa Rodia exceeded all our expectations for a dream vacation in Crete. It's a place where relaxation, luxury, and natural beauty come together seamlessly. If you're looking for an unforgettable seaside getaway with every comfort you could desire, look no further than Villa Rodia. We can't wait to return to this slice of paradise in Greece!
